The Bible says it’s more blessed to give than to receive. But I must tell you, today it was a blessed experience to receive. When’s the last time you felt God blow you a kiss for the blessing you’ve been to others?
I felt the gentle breeze of that kiss this morning while attending the Passions Awards Reception put on by Hobby Lobby in working with The National Christian Foundation. It was their mission to identify and support excellent ministries in Oklahoma City committed to advancing the Gospel of Christ. Over eighty-eight ministries filled out applications to be a recipient of the grants in celebration of building up a stronger Oklahoma City.
Of those eighty-eight ministries, the National Christian Foundation chose twenty-nine nonprofits to advance into the finals for the selection of the top twelve organizations who would each receive $10,000 (and one – $25,000) at their first-annual OKC Passions Awards Celebration on March lst.
I am so thrilled to announce that Arise Ministries was one of those twelve! Yahoo! What a blessed time it was this morning being thanked by Hobby Lobby and the National Christian Foundation for making a difference by changing lives in our wonderful metropolis. We are deeply humbled!
So now, I want to take this time to not only thank Hobby Lobby and The National Christian Foundation but to congratulate the other eleven organizations who received this honor.

Somehow Barbara Mikulski’s quote seems to be perfectly fitting right now: “Each one of us can make a difference but together we make a change.”
To God be the glory!
