Mother’s Day: In every woman on the face of this planet this particular day evokes EMOTION, whether thrusting her into an all time high or sedating her into a record low. I’m feeling rather melancholy when I think of various friends of mine and how Mother’s Day makes them feel.
To my friend who never married but wanted children, this day is a reminder of a dream never fulfilled.
To the friend who has tiny tots still at home with a stable marriage, this day can only be summed up a special memory.
To my friend who has lost a child, this day is poignant memory of what used to be and can never be again.
To my friend whose senior just graduated, this day is an awakening that “motherhood” is about to change.
To my married friend who desperately wants a child, this day is a reminder that “everyone else” is pregnant…. but her.
To my friend whose children have successfully remarried with children, this day is a blessing seeing a legacy passed on.
To my friend who has not heard from her child in years, this day is a heaviness of soul that can only be described as hell on earth.
To my friend who’s a single again woman, this day is a reality of a special love for her children but life did not turn out the way she had planned.
To the friend who has grandchildren, this day is a mirror of joy from her own offspring.
To my friend who’s expecting a child for the first time, this day is filled with thoughts of a baby shower and dreams laced with either baby blue and soft pink.
To my friend who is a widow, this day is an open storybook of what life might be like if he were still here.
To my friend who’s in a nursing home, this day is a reflection of the brevity of life.
To the friend whose mother has already gone on to be with the Lord, this day is a bitter/sweet reality that life on earth changed the day “she” left the planet.
Motherhood: It’s a mystery embedded in the heart of every woman.
I pray God blesses you this day in a way that only He can.
