Our Little Missiles called Kids

March 22, 2015

This picture makes me grin.

–   As a mom of preschoolers, what comes to your mind when you see this image?

–   As a mom with middle school kids, what are you thinking?

–   As a mom with children who are now grown and gone, what truths do you see?

Here are my thoughts. Our children are initially like little missiles with faces of anticipation hoping that someone is going to point them in the right direction. That’s our job as mothers. And though they might temporarily take a wrong turn, it’s still our job to invest our best in them. We can’t control their direction when they transition through the stratospheres of change as they grow up, but we can use the canon’s remote control called prayer, and ask the Father to guide them on their journey.

I just adore this little guy. And don’t you love his glasses and helmet?
