Zooming into God’s Outer Space of 2015

December 29, 2014

Christmas is behind us (Did I hear a woo hoo?)…and likely if you’re like me, you’ve already put away most of your Christmas decorations.

So I ask, “What’s next?  New Year’s Eve???”  NO!  What’s next is packing your mind with God’s truths for 2015 before the firecrackers on December 31st display their parti-colored routine.  When January lst rings in the New Year, your rocket of hope needs to be booted up, anticipating the big take off.

So what truths do you need to set in your missile that will transport you into the New Year?  These three verses were my rocket-booster favorites as a single mom. I still call upon them daily to launch my thoughts on the right path:

Psalm 84:11 – No good things does he withhold to those who walk uprightly. I love that truth.  It means that if we’re not getting what we want the most, God either sees it would not be to our best interest or He has another plan or He’s preparing us to receive it later.

Ecclesiastes 3:1:11 – To everything there is a season – He makes everything beautiful in his time. Sometimes we forget that what we’re living in now is not a permanent period but a passing season.  Whatever good or bad, like cotton candy, it will pass and we will see its usefulness eventually.

Zephaniah 3:17 – The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves.  He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing. I love this! We don’t walk into the New Year alone.  God, the Lord of the Angel Armies, is with us, taking pleasure in our union with Him.  We matter to Him!

Which one truth is your favorite? The one that promises that God will hold nothing back?  The one that proclaims this season is useful?  Or the one that validates how precious you are to Him? I don’t know about you, but they can all serve as my 2015 lifejacket.  Amen?

God bless as you leave 2014 behind and zoom into God’s outer space of 2015.  Praying He’ll give you the desire of your heart and make your plans succeed.
